DESCRIPTION
This course is intended to give students a basic synthesis of the history of Spain from its origins to present day. The class will highlight the development not only of Spanish politics, but also of its unique economic, social, and cultural characteristics. The course is divided into four sections: Roots of Spanish Civilization, The Middle Ages, Creation of the Modern State, and The Contemporary Age.
