This subject introduces students to key issues within the field of applied linguistics, an approach to understanding language issues in the real world, drawing on theory and empirical analysis. The topics represented within the programme draw from some related disciplines within applied linguistics such as communications in the professions, forensic linguistics, and teaching English for specific purposes.
