DESCRIPTION

The Perspectives in International Healthcare: Clinical Observation course is designed to provide students with an introduction to international healthcare systems and patient care. Students will engage with content in traditional lectures, readings, discussions, case studies, and hospital shadowing experiences. Hospital shadowing will allow students to observe international healthcare firsthand, interact with a diverse range of patients, and learn from local clinicians. Through reflective journaling, students will be able to articulate the differences of the host country's medical system, cultural considerations to care, and their own perspectives on pursuing a career in healthcare. Students who successfully complete this course will gain a unique perspective on international healthcare.
