DESCRIPTION

The module explores work sectors in which social science graduates are likely to seek employment. The module will discuss theories related to labour market flexibility as this represents that central plank in the neo-liberal model promoting market competitiveness. Additional context will include precariat arguments underpinned by theories related to anxiety and alienation as part of the contemporary work place. The module will also explore additional theoretical perspectives to explain the Labour Process in a contemporary capitalist society including outsourcing, management and leadership and work place bargaining.
