DESCRIPTION
The Module equips students with advanced skills for dealing with housing issues and extends students? knowledge of housing law. It deals with a range of complex problems and presenting issues for practitioners by analysing subsequent legislation and case law on the operation of the homelessness legislation and look at community care law where ineligibility under the homelessness legislation applies. There will an emphasis on how legislation is interpreted in practice. The module will also provide an update and analysis of recent case law with implications for housing management, i.e., allocations, tenancies, Cases taken from practitioner practice will be built into seminars and students are expected to undertake discussions and presentations around these case studies.
