DESCRIPTION
This course will compare the United States and France in the roles that women play in their nations' respective political systems. Assessed from historical, theoretical, and institutional perspectives, students will analyze the similarities and differences in women?s political power and the possibility of change in the coming years. Information from other countries will be brought to bear to provide a broader context as students determine what factors make it most possible for women to share equally in a nation's governance.
