DESCRIPTION
Perfume-making in the French city of Grasse is listed by UNESCO as part of France's Intangible Cultural Heritage. Provence, the historic birthplace of the perfume industry, remains a dynamic center of perfume creation, innovation and production, making perfume an undisputed asset of the French luxury industry. This course provides students with an understanding of history of the French perfume industry, as well as how today's perfumes are created, produced and sold. Students also learn about perfume marketing and distribution. Includes a field study trip to Grasse.
