DESCRIPTION
1. How to tell the History and the Story. What are the elements necessary, urgent and desirable when covering international issues. Main mistakes and how to fight them. Examples, cases and comparisons of what should and should not be done. 2. What do we need to change our coverage The diagnosis is irrefutable: the international journalism that is consumed and produced in Colombia is not the best. How to do to bring people closer to the world? Could it be that part of our problems as a nation have to begin by stopping assuming the navel of the world, and placing ourselves in a more real and appropriate position? There are better and different ways of telling us from the inside out. And vice versa. 3. From outsiders, outcasts and forgotten ones. When the news come from the places and characters that are not used to get the spotlights. How to change -not the facts, but at least the way of approaching to different realities from ours. Case studies.
At La Sabana, contact hours are calculated through a combination of lecture hours and outside activities (which can include workshops, fieldwork activities, guest lectures, and independent work), therefore contact hours may vary on syllabi. La Sabana awards credits based on the conversion - One Colombia Credit is the equivalent of 16 contact hours - therefore, the recommended U.S. credits are based on the contact hours assigned per course.
**Universities may opt to award additional credits for courses taken at La Sabana based on the total contact minutes in a course as students are enrolled in courses that meet for 60 minutes per contact hour versus the U.S. that only meet for 50 minutes per contact hour.**
