DESCRIPTION

Theoretics:
- What is Food Styling? History, basics and how to create a Food Stylist's personality.
- Semiotics of food. What recipes and ingredients tell us based on culture, religion and tradition.
- Neuromarketing. How to create appetizing images and seduce the brain.

Composition in food photography. Techniques, formats, platforms and studio vs. restaurant photos:
- Plating and serving. Colours, shapes, textures and cutlery.
- Lightning. Importance, uses and poetry of light.
- Prop styling. How to find the perfect match for any kind of food.
- Trends. What's hot and what's not in Food Styling.

At La Sabana, contact hours are calculated through a combination of lecture hours and outside activities (which can include workshops, fieldwork activities, guest lectures, and independent work), therefore contact hours may vary on syllabi. La Sabana awards credits based on the conversion - One Colombia Credit is the equivalent of 16 contact hours - therefore, the recommended U.S. credits are based on the contact hours assigned per course.
