DESCRIPTION

When we think of sustainable business, people tend to relate it mostly with alternative energy sources and reducing contamination emissions. But, what is sustainable business really about?
Sustainable business goes beyond these concepts, and it can convey much more. It consists of a whole new conception of making business, of seeking profitability but also being aware of the environment where businesses take part and, most importantly, how companies and society can coexist in a symbiotic fashion.
By understanding these concepts, companies in Latin America have begun to adapt their whole business model towards becoming a sustainable business. They now know that in order to survive in new, thriving markets, sustainability is a key factor in this process.
Within this course the focus will be in Latin American businesses, how some of them have become sustainable companies and what this means for them and for the sociocultural environment where they operate.
