DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for elementary-level students who have already mastered 1000-1200 commonly-used words. By taking this course, students will grasp about 500 new words, understand the basic grammars and structures in Chinese, and be able to skillfully use elementary-level functional items and oral expressions to communicate with native speakers. A variety of topics will be covered in this course, like greetings, lifestyle, making friends, transportation, illness, etc., which may help students understand more about Chinese culture and society while learning the language. Authentic materials will be used in class from time to time. Tasks will be given both in and out of class to create opportunities for students to use the languages in real life situation.
