DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for speakers at the Advanced Low and Advanced Mid Level. After taking this course, students will get the Advanced High and Superior level, engaging in conversation in a clearly participatory manner in order to communicate information on au-to biographical topics, as well as topics of community, national or international interest. The topics are handled concretely by means of narration and description in the major times frames of past, present, and future. And they will deepen understanding of the target culture, improve the Language skills and develop the communication ability. According to the textbook, a variety of topics will be covered in this course, like marriage, society, education, sports, culture, economy, network, entertainment, technology, politics environment, health, etc., which may help students understand more about Chinese culture and society while learning the language. These speakers can also deal with a social situation with an unexpected complication. They present their opinions on a number of issues of interest to them, such as social and political issues, and provide structured arguments to support these opinions. Extra reading materials, Chinese books, videos, news and nowadays hot topics will be used in class from time to time. Translation, task-based teaching ,comparing, situation and reading methods will be used in teaching. Tasks will be given both in and out of class to create opportunities for students to enhance Chinese skills and to understand Chinese Culture better.
