DESCRIPTION

This course aims to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of the various types of intellectual property rights and their commercial importance. The course will further examine the national, European, and wider international dimensions of the legal regulation of intellectual property rights, and the law governing the acquisition, exploitation and infringement of copyright and allied rights, including the application of copyright law in the context of modern information technology developments. In addition to gaining appropriate knowledge and understanding, students will have the opportunity to develop their research skills.

Please note, AAU partners with University of London to offer this course and as such, the structure of the course is different and the syllabus reflects contact hours/credits for the full academic year. However, CEA has made arrangements with AAU which allows CEA students to enroll in the course only for the semester and earn 42 contact hrs/3 credits.
