DESCRIPTION

This course focuses on British literature from the Second World War until the presesnt time and also includes writing from Commonwealth countries. A strong emphasis will be placed on studying texts in their wider historical and intellectual contexts, which will enable students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the English-speaking world. The course also aims to support the learning of English through the interface of language and literature. Students will be given a wide range of opportunities to improve their reading, writing and speaking skills by fulfilling reading and writing assignments and participating in class discussions. The knowledge and skills acquired during the course will contribute to the development of professional skills related to the use of the English language.

Course will consist of 60hrs of in class work and 90 hrs of independent work outside the classroom.
