DESCRIPTION

This undergraduate survey course is intended to function as a broad overview of the 19th Century. The aim is to construct a general picture of this century and then to interrogate the boundaries of this period (cultural, literary, social and historical). We will read a wide amount of critical, scientific and literary production in order to rethink the epistemic breaks between the Romantic, the Victorian and the Modern.

Exchange students must be able to fully understand the lecturer's instructions in Spanish. Exchange students please check the exam dates before enrolling in this subject. No change of dates is allowed, the lecturer will stick to the official exam schedule (see syllabus).
