DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this module is to introduce participants to research methods for resolving practical problems relating to Analytical Chemistry. In this module students will develop knowledge and skills in literature research methods in an analytical chemistry context. The participants will also develop their presentation and communication skills. The approach taken in this module is primarily tutorial based. The participants research one given analytical topic using high quality research methods. These must be presented in a scientific manner in written form and orally. Overall, this module provides a platform to allow the participant to develop the skill of literature research as well as scientific presentation. Students are expected to interact with their assigned supervisor via the scheduled tutorials, contribute to class discussions, and utilise the academic library resources provided by DCU for preparation of their assignments.
