DESCRIPTION
One and the same story can be told in different media: think of a novel being adapted to film, comics, television series, and/or game. What do all these versions of the same story have in common (medium-independent narrative aspects) and how do they differ (medium-specific narrative aspects)? Per meeting, we discuss a narratological concept (for example, embedded story, focalization, metafiction, narrator, story-world) and its different manifestations in various media. Subsequently, students apply the concept to a narrative text (written and/or visual) of their own choosing.
