DESCRIPTION
This module is the first of three. A thorough knowledge of Biblical Hebrew is necessary for the Old Testament modules in this Bachelor. This module is about the Hebrew script, elementary grammar and basic vocabulary. In grammar, the emphasis is on the most important aspects of the formal theory of Biblical Hebrew and on the structure of phrases and the structure of nominal and verbal sentences. Reading skills, the recognition of grammatical forms, the translation of nominal phrases and simple nominal and verbal sentences and the knowledge of the Hebrew vocabulary are practiced on the basis of extensive training material. Part of the practice takes place with the help of Hebrew Online Learner. The grammar covered in this module is the minimum required to be able to read Hebrew prose easily in the Hebrew course 2.
