DESCRIPTION
The Astronomy and Astrophysics course will guide us through this wonderful science, on a level that is understandable for students coming from different backgrounds, going through the Evolution of our Universe, from Big Bang to Dark Matter and Dark Energy, from the search for Exoplantes to the understanding of basic Cosmology. The course will provide the understanding and interrelation of different kinds of stars, objects and systems, from White Dwarfs to Red Super giants, from Supernovae to Black Holes, from the first light in the Universe to Quasars . The main contents are: Mysteries of the Universe (Big Bang, Expansion, Dark Matter and Dark Energy); Exoplanets (Searching Methods and results);Violent Systems (Degenerate Stars, Supernovae and Black Holes);Cosmology (Space and time, large Scale Structure and possible future).
