DESCRIPTION

We focus on quantitative models of individual and group decision making. Decision trees not only support decisions under uncertainty, but are able to estimate the value of further information (expert forecast, test, sampling). Preferences of the decision makers are quantified and are used as input data in the multi-criteria decision models. Most rankings (of universities, countries, products) are based on multi-criteria evaluation. Voting situations are discussed from quantitative point of view: how to aggregate individual references?
Lectures include the most popular decision models and methods. An extensive list of seminar exercises support understanding the practical aspects of preference modelling and calculation. Limitations of theoretical models are shown by classroom experiments.
