DESCRIPTION

During the quarter, the student identifies and quantifies the exchange rate risk of various business operations (import/export transactions, foreign loans, investments, etc.) and proposes effective solutions (e.g., currency options and futures contracts) to manage the risks. The student understands the difference between national and international funding and asset and liability models and the importance of adjusting the valuation method to the global environment in which a company operates. The student knows sustainability and ethical principles related to international financing and the debates about them. By exploring various strategic and competitive dimensions and complexities the real world entails, the student understands how firms interact with capital markets, raise finances and appraise various investment opportunities to enhance firms' value.
