DESCRIPTION
This Behavioral Economics course introduces bachelor students to the study of how psychological, cognitive, emotional, cultural, and social factors affect economic decisions of individuals and institutions, and how those decisions vary from those implied by classical economic theory. The course covers topics such as biases, heuristics, framing, other-regarding preferences, and the role of rationality in economic decisions. Through a combination of lectures, classroom experiments, student presentations, and problem sets, students will learn to apply concepts from behavioral economics.
Having taken introductory courses in microeconomics, mathematics, and statistics is strongly recommended, though even a very basic understanding of university-level math/stats is sufficient.
