Technology is not just computer chips and cellphone apps ? it is the knowledge behind how something works (product) and how to make it (process). Nanotech cancer treatments and iPhones are technology, but so is concrete, crayons, the way McDonalds makes its hamburgers, and the way Amazon fulfills orders. For organizations to be successful, they must know how to manage their technologies in three key arenas:
