DESCRIPTION

Economics is not just about money. How to allocate your time? How to safe for your retirement? Should you rent or buy an apartment? How does your parents? risk tolerance affect yours? How did climate change affect city growth in the past? These are all questions economists ask.

This is an introductory undergraduate course that teaches the fundamentals of microeconomics and macroeconomics. From the different economic fields, we will discuss the constrained decision-making situation, competition and cooperation, demand and supply, and aggregate economic indicators. Applications include environmental economics, corporate decision making, employment and market operation. The course is closely related to the parallel Introduction to Empirical Analysis course. The course also prepares the subject of microeconomics and macroeconomics.
