DESCRIPTION
In the current period of increasing populism, corruption scandals and the rise of racism, sexism and xenophobia; there is a tangible need to bring up a new generation of leaders who have education and integrity but also the charisma, vision and sell-confidence to promote new plans and inspire and motivate others. This course is open to all students who would like to improve such skills and learn and practice different leadership styles. A crucial dimension of the course concerns a diversity perspective of leadership. The aim is to discuss and analyze the importance of diversity in leadership including women, and different racial or sexual minorities. In order to have a true democratic representation of society in a given country, it is very important that women and minorities are properly included and represented. This course will give perspective of different leadership styles, teach basic rights and freedoms, outline the major causes of current unequal representation in leadership, and propose measures for improvement. The course is highly interactive and the students are expected to actively participate and form the content of the class through their opinions, interventions and presentations.
