DESCRIPTION

This course introduces students to the process of environmental impact assessment, generally called EIA. An assessment of the environmental consequences (negative but also positive) of a plan, policy, program, or project became an obliged step for most of the significant developments in the world. They are mostly governed by rules of administrative procedure whose purpose is to ensure that decision makers consider the environmental impacts when deciding whether or not to proceed with a project. After introducing the principles of EIA, students will work on real case studies and develop their own projects.
