DESCRIPTION
The primary aim of this course is to help students process and manipulate information so that they can integrate it into daily conversation and writing. Students are presented with information from academic texts, literature, business correspondence, radio, television, and actual conversations. They are then expected to incorporate this information into their own spoken and written production of the Spanish language. Class assignments will consist of written compositions, role play, debates and classroom presentations. Student evaluations are based on attendance, class participation, daily assignments, a mid-term and final exam. This course is mandatory for students enrolled in Hispanic Studies, unless the student proves to be of bilingual level.
