DESCRIPTION
The course objective is to show how communication media operates, and its structure in Spain. There will be alternate theoretical and practical sessions in order to think about the general system of communication, and its peculiarities, starting with a tour to the most important media in Barcelona. There will be a historical as well as a current approach, insisting on critical and reflexive issues, about the role of the media in contemporary Spanish society, and about the future perspectives of new technologies. Knowing about the functioning of communication media is necessary to any citizen in actual modern societies. The evaluation consists of different exercises, attendance, participation, and a final exam.
