Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
I chose to study abroad in Amsterdam because I am very passionate about urban transportation, cycling, and how we design cities! Amsterdam is one of the best cities in the world for this and I hope to take what I learn about urban design over there to improve my hometown of Houston, Texas. I also recently found out I have ancestry from the Netherlands!

Why IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
I'm very excited for the Dutch Koningsdag celebration! I've read about how the entire country celebrates in orange (my favorite color) and it is essentially a nationwide party with lots of markets!

What CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING while ABROAD?
I'm looking forward to a class called Psycholinguistics, about how the brain interprets language - it is something that fascinates me and I want to learn more about it! Alongside that I will be taking a natural language processing class where I learn how computers interpret language, so those will be fun to take together.

WHAT IS SOMETHING you're passionate and excited about? 
Besides my interest in urban planning/cycling, I love learning Dutch, I've learned it for eight months now! I also like to geocache, it's a great way to explore a new place. I'm very excited to geocache in Amsterdam. A few other hobbies include reading history books, playing the cello and guzheng, and working jigsaw puzzles.
