WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class while abroad was my Sports Physical Therapy class. The class was always engaging, active, and fun. My professor, who is also a physical therapist, was incredible and his knowledge inspired me. This course deepened my passion for working in the health field to the point where I switched my major to PT. I was also volunteering with Special Olympics at the time, where kids with disabilities received physical therapy. Everything I learned in class would tie into my volunteer work, making the experience even more meaningful. If I could recommend a class to students it would be this one.
WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One story I always tell people about my time abroad is the first time I walked on the beach in Costa Rica. I knew it was known for its nature and natural beauty, but seeing it in person was unbelievable! It was an excursion CEA CAPA took us on in Manuel Antonio, and the beach looked so stunning that it felt like I was looking at a green screen. I tell people it isn’t something I can explain or show; it’s something you have to see in person to truly understand. The beauty of the country is just something different!
