WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One story I always tell people about is the excursion we went on to Cádiz. We were given a city tour and our tour guide explained to us that the people of Cádiz live life very slowly. They take their time to eat, to walk, and to enjoy the company of the people around them. This experience stuck with me throughout my entire time abroad as I tried to always remember to take everything in and move at a slower pace, enjoying every little piece of my experience.

HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?

While abroad, I engaged with the local community by taking part in local events, socializing with locals, and volunteering! My friends and I went to fútbol game which allowed us to cheer on the Real Betis team and see the energy that the crowd brought. We also went to local restaurants and bars to immerse ourselves in the city. I also volunteered at a charity shop which allowed me to meet tons of people, practice my Spanish, and do something to give back to the community.
