WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
I loved my cultural communication class that I took abroad because I feel like it tied all of my personal experiences together. I definitely learned the most in this class, and enjoyed learning about how we important it is to be aware of how different cultures that have different cultural norms communicate differently. We were able to relate alot of the material form this class to our personal travel/culture shock. At the end of the semester, I found amazing to have a lot of time to reflect on how our time abroad helped us grow.
WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One important aspect of studying abroad that I noticed was how different certain ways of life are for different cultures. For example, the Spanish culture has a very relaxed concept of time, so it is very common to be really late to things and it is totally okay. Even the metro would be stopped for like 30 minutes and there were other Spanish people on it going to work and school, but no one seemed to care about being late. Whereas in other countries, it may be a bad thing to show up late.
