WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One important takeaway I have from my time abroad is the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone. For me living in a country where I didn't speak the language and traveling around Europe seemed daunting. But I put my fears aside and leaned into the once-in-a-lifetime experience I was given. I was able to become so comfortable living in Prague by trying new things, meeting new people, and not being afraid to put myself out there. I was also able to explore Europe and further push myself out of my comfort zone which was so fulfilling as I got to experience even more cultures firsthand. Studying abroad taught me to become more fearless and let myself explore all that life has to offer..
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class while abroad was the Jewish Experience in Prague. As the name suggests it focused on learning about how Jewish people have lived through the many regimes that ruled over the Czech Republic and their keys to survival. I especially enjoyed this class because an emphasis was put on hands-on learning from the Jewish community in Prague. We were able to visit many synagogues, and sites of historical importance, and talk with members of the community including a Holocaust survivor. The class was very intriguing and allowed for me to fully immerse myself in the Czech Jewish experience.
