WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class I took was Spanish culture, in Spanish. Not only did this course expand my comfortability listening and speaking the language, but I also learned so much that tied into my own experience. It was so exciting to learn about Paella in class on Friday and then try it on Saturday while traveling to another Spanish city. This course allowed me to deeper appreciate the immersive experience I was being given, and I left with a love of Spain beyond just what I had experienced.
WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One important aspect of my time abroad that I love getting to talk about was the amount of things I did alone. Whether it was walking around and exploring the city, going to a tapas bar or coffee shop, shopping, or flying across the world, this time spent with myself helped me to develop a sense of independence and confidence that I did not have previously. I love describing the freedom of walking down a street in Spain, gelato cone in hand, by myself but without a care in the world.
