HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I am happy that I was able to get involved with the local community of Sevilla. I had an internship at a law firm that locals worked at, so I quickly developed close relationships with my coworkers, who taught me so much about the Spanish language, culture, and world of law. Additionally, I got a membership at a local gym to be able to continue my love as exercise as well as engage with locals there.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY? (IF YOU INTERNED ABROAD YOU CAN USE THIS SPACE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE IF YOU PREFER)
I loved all of the classes I took with CEA CAPA. However, the aspect of my semester abroad that had the most impact on me was my internship. I worked at a small immigration law firm in Sevilla, which was perfect for me because I wanted to improve my Spanish skills and I plan to go to law school. Some of my tasks included interacting with clients, scheduling appointments with the immigration office of Sevilla, filling out various legal documents for clients regarding Spanish residency and citizenship, and researching the immigration process in Spain. My internship was very hands on, which allowed me to grow as a professional, as a Spanish speaker, and as a person overall.
