HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I made sure to participate in the local city markets on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays! My favorite one to go to was the massive food market, where I would buy fresh fruit and my ultimate favorite: sheep's cheese. It was a great opportunity to practice some French with the vendors. There was even a special market on Labor Day that was all things arts and crafts. I got to talk to the artists there about their passions and work!

 

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class was my French food and culture class. The class was a mix of French cooking vocab, the history of cooking, and a hands-on cooking experience. We learned how to cook French foods during class such as madeleines, and we often took sight visits to local restaurants around the city! Some of my favorites included a cheese tasting at a fine dining restaurant and a visit to a candy shop.
