José Balza, Operations Manager, Career & Internship Programs
CIP Leadership
Jose Balza is responsible for providing oversight of the operational and delivery components of CEA CAPA Career and Internship Programs globally, with a focus on constant process improvements, technology implementations, and optimizations. He plays a vital role in continuously improving the quality of the student experience, as well as identifying gaps and efficiencies in each component of the program experience: application process, career coaching and placement process, in-country delivery, and assessment and reporting.
Jose has a BA in Communication from Arturo Michelena University in his home country Venezuela and is a TEFL certified instructor from the Hunter College of the City University of New York. Before joining CEA CAPA, Jose worked in operations in the Communications and Live Theater industries. Jose has worked in education for over 15 years, with experience as an Adjunct Professor for Broadcast Production & Operations and as an EFL teacher for various institutions. Over 7+ years, he has worked directly in the international education space, including 4 years with the in-country CEA CAPA Buenos Aires team. During this time, he developed a strong network of internship partners, coached students through their study and internship abroad journey, and coordinated experiential learning activities. He also contributed to course development and program delivery. Since 2021, Jose has supported global CEA CAPA operations and initiatives from the U.S., impacting both international and domestic aspects of the programs.
Jose is an avid concertgoer and coffee drinker; he enjoys traveling and connecting with people from different backgrounds.
