HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I would immerse myself and try the local foods based on where I was for the weekend and learn about the significance of them. When I was in coffee shops or restaurants I tried to apply my small knowledge of Spanish I knew to show some respect to the employees. Lastly, when I was in Barcelona I ate at a local place and ordered off the menú del dia.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class abroad was sports marketing. I was not very familiar and up to date with sports before. This course allowed me to learn more about sports in America and Europe and how the two contrast. It was very interesting to learn about La Liga coming into the course with no prior information of what it was and the talk around the NFL expanding to Europe. This made me have a greater appreciation for sports.
