Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
I chose to study abroad because it is an opportunity to explore a new country while also furthering my education. It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance and I wanted to take advantage of it. I chose to study in Amsterdam because it has been a dream destination for me. I have always loved the architecture of the city and the fields of tulips and have always hoped I would be able to visit so being able to live there for three months is unbelievable!
Why IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
I look forward to experiencing a new culture and learning more about Dutch food, traditions, and people. I have recently learned about the annual flower parade that they hold and that has been a tradition since the 19th century and I am so excited to see how the city transform on this day.
What CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING while ABROAD?
I am looking forward to taking my Psychology major electives. There are a lot of similar classes to those offered by my home university but I have been very interested in seeing how the teaching style and perspective on psychology differs in the Netherlands compared to in the US.
WHAT IS SOMETHING you're passionate and excited about?
I am really excited to visit the various museums that Amsterdam has, traditional and untraditional, like the Eye Filmmuseum! I also love to draw and paint so I can't wait to see what inspirations I find while there.
