Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
I chose to study abroad because I wanted to explore a culture different than my own. I have never traveled out of the United States before and realized that this kind of opportunity would likely never come to my doorstep again. I decided on Granada, Spain because of my intrigue in the interesting history and beautiful architecture of Spain, like the Alhambra. I have wanted to improve my Spanish as well!

WhAT IS ONE NEW EXPERIENCE YOU'RE HOPING TO HAVE WHILE ABROAD?
I hope to find the time and freedom to explore a new way of living that I do not get to have with my life in the States currently. While I am super excited to travel within and beyond Spain, I also feel deeply drawn to the local customs in Granada and the new perspective that I can experience with being a visitor to their city and culture.

What CLASS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING while ABROAD?
I am most looking forward to "Traditional Song and Spanish Society: Flamenco, Folklore, and Sephardic Song" because it will allow to me learn about topics that I haven't yet gotten to explore thus far in my studies. I'm quite excited for all of my classes, but I think this class tied to Spanish song and dance will be particularly enjoyable as I'll personally get to explore such important aspects of Spanish culture in real-time.

WHAT IS SOMETHING you're passionate and excited about? 
I am extremely passionate about dance performance and artistic film/video. When I decided on Granada, I instantly became excited to engage with Flamenco dance and hopefully get to learn the basics of the style. I'm also starting my journey with filmmaking and eager to make videos with this program about my experience.
