WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
I signed up for a local language tandem and was paired with a local graduate student and we spent half of our time meeting in Spanish and half in English and she became one of my good friends and I learned so much culture from her. I spent holidays with her family and was truly immersed into Catalan traditions. I learned how to navigate Barcelona from a local's perspective and avoid tourist traps.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
I lived so close to the Sagrada Familia and it was amazing. My metro stop was there and my favorite part of every day was getting to see its beauty and the diverse types of people that would be around it. I loved hearing the music and seeing everyone stare up at her with awe.
