Why did you choose to study or intern abroad?
I chose to study abroad so I can immerse myself in a new culture. I wanted to venture out of my comfort zone and place myself into a situation where I am not familiar with the culture and not fluent in the language. In order to grow as a person, I believe you must put yourself in situations where it may not be completely comfortable. Travel was also a big part because I would love to go see the world while I have time and helpful resources.  

Why did you choose your study/intern destination?
Spain is a place I have heard so much about and is beautiful. When I was researching places to go and study abroad, Alicante was just what I wanted. The beautiful beaches, city life, and food all convinced me that this would make my experience well worth it. Another reason I chose to go to a Spanish speaking country was due to how widespread the language is. In the United States there are many people speaking Spanish and I believe it is such an important language to learn. 

What are you most looking forward to during your study/intern experience?During my experience here in Alicante I am looking forward to learning more about the culture here in Spain and meeting local students. To learn how they live here in Spain will allow me to be more understanding of others' ideas and values. I am also looking forward to learning the language and being forced to use it in my everyday life. During this experience I want to be able to leave being a more independent and involved person. 

what's a Fun Fact about you (hobbies, interests, accomplishment, etc.)?
Back in the United States I study Biology at Lynn University while also playing division II lacrosse. I also love going to the beach with my friends and family. I like to keep my schedule busy with school, lacrosse, social life, but also community service. In south Florida there are many opportunities to get out in the community and help in any way you can. Looking into here in Spain there are many volunteer opportunities that I would love to take part in.
