WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
I always like to tell people about my living situation. I think I grew the most within my own home with my host mother; she did not speak a lick of English, so I had no option but to speak Spanish. This allowed me to truly improve my Spanish and grow in a way unimaginable. All of our meals were eaten together with our host mom, which so fun. We debriefed our days with our mother and asked her questions about the country--all in Spanish! Life was good under that roof!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
I think my favorite class abroad was "Spanish Identity." Essentially this class was centered around the history of Spain, with a fun twist. My professor would introduce the pop culture of the decade being studied. This included songs, fashion, movies, etc. I really appreciated this class because I did not know much about Spain prior. I feel as though other countries know a lot about the US, but I don't know about others in return. I am so thankful for the knowledge earned!
