HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I engaged actively with the local community, mostly thanks to my host family. Living in a homestay and working an internship helped me to immerse myself in the community and I rarely spent time at CEA or with other students. I found two job opportunities as well outside of the internship in local communities and these helped me to make lifelong friends in the city. I actively looked for opportunities to interact with local business and people, and spent most of my time in local neighborhoods.

WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
I always share about the under 18s team that I coached while abroad. It was my favorite part of every day, and I looked forward to going to the practices and helping the players develop. The games were also a great way to see the city and the different cultures inside of it. It helped me to gain a lot of friends there and learn about the culture firsthand,.
