WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY? (IF YOU INTERNED ABROAD YOU CAN USE THIS SPACE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE IF YOU PREFER)
When reminiscing about my time abroad, I like to emphasize that living in a new city that has its own culture means developing a personal identity that reflects the local culture. For example, while abroad the "Parisian Clara" had her own form of body language, social cues, style, and slang that mimicked that of the local culture. This is not a loss of your original identify, but a growth to it, and allows for individual reflection and personal growth unlike any other opportunity.
HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I made walking around Paris and discovering local culture a main priority while abroad. Since Paris is so compact, you can take the metro or walk to almost anything! I loved to visit museums such as Musée d'Orsay and visit local cafés, my favorite is called "Buddy Buddy". This also meant I overheard a lot of French conversations and was able to practice my French with locals!
