Álvaro J. Sanjuán, Program and Student Services Senior Coordinator

Álvaro J. Sanjuán pursued studies in English Literature, History, and Linguistics at the University of Oviedo in Spain, further advancing his education in Applied Languages at Dublin City University in Ireland. He began his professional journey as an Art History professor at UNIPEC in Burgos, Spain. Subsequently, he transitioned into roles such as Web Manager and Community Manager. His collaboration with CEA Madrid commenced as a tour guide, eventually leading to his position as Student Services Coordinator. In addition to these responsibilities, Álvaro has served as the Internships Coordinator for Madrid and continues to instruct the Global Internship Course.

Beyond his academic and professional endeavors, Álvaro is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. He authored the book "Grandes Maricas de la Historia" ("Great Gays in History"), which delves into the lives of historical figures whose sexual orientations have often been overlooked. This work underscores his commitment to highlighting and celebrating diversity throughout history.

Álvaro's personal interests encompass the arts, history, opera, and classical music. He is also an enthusiast of running, crossfit and outdoor sports, reflecting his appreciation for both cultural and physical activities.
