HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
Making sure I had the ability to engage with the local community was something I was passionate about before studying abroad. Since I speak a little bit of Spanish, I immersed myself in the culture by going to authentic Spanish restaurants and speaking the language with the staff, as well as trying to learn the language more in places such as the grocery store.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS WHILE ABROAD, AND WHY?
My favorite class abroad was food and culture. I loved this class because it had a different structure than my classes at my university. It was so interactive - we did a tapas potluck, an olive oil tasting, and went to eat churros as a class!
