Coming Fall ‘23: CEA CAPA Partners with University of New York Prague

Starting in Fall ‘23, CEA CAPA students will have the opportunity to study abroad at the University of New York in Prague (UNYP), our newest academic partner. UNYP is an internationally focused institution in the Czech Republic that brings a robust portfolio of course offerings to our organization. They also offer strong student support services like tutoring and writing labs. Read on to see why we are looking forward to enhancing the student experience by forming a strategic partnership with UNYP.

UNYP Overview

In the Czech Republic, an accredited local institution is required to provide study confirmations for student visa applications. This means that students must take at least some courses with a local university if they study or intern abroad in Prague. It’s a plus that UNYP is the only other major player in the Prague private-institution space. Partners can feel comfortable knowing UNYP provides all the benefits and requirements that Anglo-American University (AAU) has offered in the past, such as credit transfer, course availability, accreditation, and beyond.

UNYP Partnerships

AAU and UNYP are similar types of institutions in Prague, with similar sizes of student and staff populations. It is CEA CAPA’s commitment to ensure we offer quality study abroad programs with top notch service at every one of our destinations. We will continue offering hybrid programs with our current partner institution in Prague, AAU. While AAU will still be available, we are thrilled to continue expanding study abroad programs in Prague built around the CEA Prague Center.

UNYP is a great benefit to CEA CAPA’s Prague portfolio, with its advanced student support services and strong communication and psychology programs. Course offerings that come from UNYP and CEA CAPA’s partnership include business, humanities, international relations, and political science. Plus, more than 100 courses are taught in English that align with popular U.S. institutions and degree-seeking students.

UNYP Academics

Study abroad programs at UNYP will be offered as hybrid semester options with the CEA Prague Center beginning in Fall ‘23. CEA CAPA students will have access to over 100 courses taught entirely in English through UNYP’s four schools:

1. Business

2. Communication and Media

3. International Relations

4. Psychology

Most courses are six European Credit Transfer Systems (ECTS), which is typically equivalent to three U.S. semester credits or 45 contact hours. While there are general education courses to choose from in arts, literature, and philosophy, CEA CAPA students can also study abroad in Prague at UNYP within degree-specific academic areas:

  • Business Administration

  • Child Development

  • Communication and Media

  • Digital Media Arts

  • Finance

  • Human Resources

  • International Relations

  • IT Management

  • Marketing

  • Political Science

  • Psychology

  • Sports Management
