Living in a foreign country is a crazy, life changing experience, and one of the most important aspects of your journey abroad is where you choose to live. In the hopes of fully immersing myself in the language and culture of France, I elected to live in a homestay, and I couldn’t have made a better decision. Personally interviewed and vetted by CEA staff, host parents are ready and willing to support you in many ways during your time abroad. Home cooked meals that showcase the gastronomic culture of France, a caring environment conducive to learning, and an insight into French culture through the eyes of a real French family are just some of the perks that came with living with a host family. If given the chance to live with a host family again, I would take it every time.
