Volunteering Abroad

I cannot believe my time volunteering has come to an end. It has been such an enlightening experience and it has made such a positive impact on my study abroad experience. When I first stepped into my volunteering placement, I had no idea what to expect. I was very nervous because I do not speak Spanish very well, but I was excited to learn more about the students and the school that I was placed in. My main goal was to encourage these students to learn English and make a long-term impression on them. My experiences volunteering exceeded my expectations and both of my goals were met. Not only did I connect with students individually, I formed friendships with them as well.
